***HARD COPY OF PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE REQUIRED IN SHOW OFFICE PRIOR TO START OF EACH SHOW ***
Every contestant under the age of 18 must have the signatureof his parent or legal guardian on a hard copy of the entry submission in the show office prior to the start of the show in order to participate in the show. For insurance reasons, no exceptions will be made to this rule.
If you pre-register, but cannot get to the show office before the show starts to sign the form, print out the appropriate Registration Form for your show, sign, and have your child bring the signed form and entry fees to the office prior to the start of the show.
2019 Summer Buckle Series Overview
(For detailed information, see the "Standing Rules" tab.)
From May through October, the BFSC holds a Summer Buckle Series for equestrians and their horses of all breeds, ages, and skill levels to compete in a friendly environment. The Summer Buckle Series consists of a Monthly Performance Show and a Monthly Speed Show. BFSC will also host once a month clinics (see schedule for dates). The free clinics do NOT require pre-registration and will NOT count towards End of Year Awards...just show up and have some fun.
The Performance Shows offer professionally judged classes in: - Halter - English - Showmanship - Western - Trail
The Speed Shows offer timed races in:
- 75 up and Back
- Poles - Flags - Keyhole
Classes are divided based upon the age/skill level of the rider:
- Beginner Rider Walk-Trot (All Ages)
- Advanced Rider Walk-Trot (All Ages and trainers are permitted in this Division)
- Novice (All Ages)
- 13 & Under
- 19 & Over
- Open (Trainers are permitted in the Open Division and Advanced Walk-Trot Only)
You can find the show bills for the Monthly Performance Show and the Monthly Speed Show here on our website. Awards and ribbons are given at the monthly shows. Belt buckles are awarded at our Year-End Awards Banquet for the various overall high point and reserve champions for the season. In order qualify to win a buckle, you must complete your service hours and have competed in 3 of the 6 monthly shows.

The Black Forest Saddle Club strives to provide a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere where families and friends can gather together for horse shows, gymkhanas, clinics, trail rides, and good old fashioned socializing!
The club is beautifully located in the Black Forest, just north of Colorado Springs, where you can enjoy the outdoors and a great view of Pikes Peak and the Front Range.
As a family-friendly venue, we prohibit all use of tobacco and alcohol on our grounds.
